The Adventures of Brittany and Curtis

Welcome to Our Blog!!!
Thanks for taking the time to get to know us.

Happy Valentine's Day

Sometimes the best gifts are the ones that are not expensive but mean the most.

When I got up for work I woke to a trail of Valentines. Curtis had purchased a box of 32 valentines. (The same ones used for classroom parties.)
The first one was found on the bathroom counter, the next in the shower,  one in my jewelery box, one on the night stand...

After I left the bedroom I found more in the hallway. There were five around the computer.......
2 in my lunch box.....

3 in my purse and 5 in the fridge.

There was also one in my shoe.

Each had their own special message. When I left for work I thought I had got them all. Well I missed two in the bedroom and the last we could not find. I figured we would maybe find it eventually.

Curtis started asking me where I found them this morning. It turns out that I had missed one but it was with me all day. It was in my other shoe. I wear inserts so I did not check my other shoe all the way and had put my inserts on top of the last valentine. Needless to say it was a little wet and gross. We laughed about that one for awhile. What a great day!!! Thanks Curt!!!

Hope everyone had a good day as we did!!!!

Good Times

We love to have good times with our family members. Last Sunday was no exception. We had dinner at Mom's House.  The food was great!!! After dinner we just sat around and chatted. Curtis' Job was to entertain Dylan. It started by Dylan riding his "horsey"

After his "Ride", Dylan went on to Say "Thanks Horsey"

Dylan went on to build a train and we were his passengers. While Dylan was conducting the train, Curtis went on to tickle the other passengers. Dylan was a little confused about why we were laughing so hard in the back of the train so he decides to laugh as well. I do not think he was happy when his train was messed up whenever Curtis would tickle Anna. (Sorry it is so dark)
It was a night of Good Times. Thanks Everyone!!

Early Spring Cleaning

In our efforts to start our new year we started to go through some of our stuff. After all we have lived in the same place for the past two years and we have collected many things.  Anyways I came across some pictures that were a blast from the past.
This picture is from 2006.We are in Lake City, Florida serving our Mission. It was Prep. day and we were looking for something to do. We found this pond and decided to play football, it just happened to be in the MUD!! This is the before picture.
As you notice this was at the end of February. Florida weather is the best.
We were a mess!!! I am sure that we were stepping on things that were dead and decaying. Curtis actually broke his pinky toe on a rock.
This picture is not the greatest but hopefully you can tell the difference from the before and after. I am pretty sure if I remember correctly we were cleaning the mud off of us for like an hour. We hosed off before we even left the property. (Curtis is in the middle and I am at the end on right)

So even though we had to clean house, It was great to look over these pictures and have the memories come back to us. That was just a wonderful day and we had so much fun. Playing mud football was on a list of things that I always wanted to do and I had the chance to.

Family Traditions

In honor of the holidays we wanted to share what family traditions we have established. The Sunday before Christmas we spend it with Curtis Family. We have dinner and open presents. This year we were the host as we rotate between houses. It was so much fun. During the week of Christmas we visited Brittany's family.
Mom Humphrey made these cute aprons for us!! I now feel domesticated.

One of Curtis' favorite Christmas Candy!!

On Christmas Day we spent the day with us, with our own family that Curtis and I have created. We have taken some of the same traditions that we both grew up and have combined them. We had Brittany's family famous Dessert- Pistachio salad. For Christmas dinner we had stir fry and homemade won tons, a tradition from Curtis' Family. We started a new tradition as a couple. We decided to go shopping for our stockings at the same store but we had to make sure that we did not spot each other in our efforts to shop. It was fun to shop and try and make sure we did not spot each other. Anyways on Christmas morning we opened our presents that were in our stockings. It was great. We had only one slight problem.....
.......We brought each other the same CD. We did not realize that our taste in music was so similar!!!

You got to Love Christmas Traditions!!!

HOW WE MET

This is one of our favorite Stories to tell. For some it may not be exciting but we love to tell everyone. The time period is  2004-2006 . We met on our mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. We served in the same area for about four months. After that we all went on to serve in other areas. Brittany still had about 6 months left on her mission while Curtis had about the same. During that time that we all served together we all became quick friends which we still keep in touch with each other from time to time.

Brittany got home about 6 weeks before Curtis did which was Sept. 2006. When Curtis got home he looked me up and invited me to his homecoming. The rest they say was history. We decided to continue to develop our friendship.  Not to say it wasn't easy. Curtis lived in Montana for about 3 months while Brittany lived in Utah. Our phone bills were HUGE. Curtis moved to Utah in Dec. of 2006. This is probably when our relationship got serious.Distance was always against us when we were dating. We lived about an hour and half apart. Poor Curtis when he would come see me he would sometimes have to sleep in his car. (His persistence paid off)

In order to see each other Curtis would volunteer at the school where Brittany worked.
Here we are at a museum on a Field Trip Day. The Kids loved having Mr. Curtis come with us.
We were engaged in April of 2007 and we married in June of 2007.
It was a HOT but some how we did not seem to mind.
